COMMITMENT
Dr. Jodi Dinnerman
Understanding what you are committed to and having a healthy perspective on how to nourish those commitments will make the average professional excel, every time! We are all committed to something, whether it be our careers, our families, our relationships, etc. For a healthy reality check to evaluate your commitments look at how you spend your time. A clear look at your schedule will give you an undeniable picture of what you are really committed to. You can also ask the people in your life what they perceive your commitments to be. You may just be surprised at their responses!
It is my belief that if our commitments don't support our core values we get stuck. Our business don’t thrive, our relationships don’t turn stale, and goals seem unreachable. Core values are those qualities that make you tick. Compassion, organization, freedom, and abundance are a few examples. If your energy is spent in directions that don’t support your core values, growth is nearly impossible. As long as your commitments support your core values, a healthy relationship with abundance and success are a direct result.
It is common for most of my clients to tell me that their life demands become their commitments, instead of their core values SHAPING and guiding how they spend their energy and time. I am committed to being a great parent. Therefore the choices I make at work, at home and how I spend time with my baby should reflect that. Keeping in mind my core value of FAMILY when I make decisions at home or at work simplifies decision making. It is my belief that with a deep connection to my core values – anything can be accomplished. So, take a look, what are your core values? What makes you tick? What makes your business tick? What and who do you really want to be serving? Figure out what you really want, and you will see that WHAT YOU WANT WANTS YOU right back!
